You can now search past Word comments, either directly within the LegalOn Assistant or using Search, without relying on memory or manually reviewing previous contracts one at a time.
What you can now do
Search past Word comments from within the Assistant. Ask it, in conversation, to find past review comments attached to previous contracts.
Search past Word comments using Search. Select "Word Comments" to narrow your results to comments left in Word documents.
Narrow results by attribute, not just keyword. Filter by governing law, contract type (including subcategory), position, author, counterparty name, contract status, or comment post date.
Find comments similar to the one you're writing right now. The Assistant can search for past comments similar to a comment in the contract currently open in your editor.
Draft a reply or new comment referencing past positions. The Assistant can draft a reply or a new comment proposal using those similar past comments as reference.
Use cases
Checking your position on a clause. Search "liability" to pull up every past comment where you or a colleague negotiated that clause, so you can confirm your standard position before redlining a new agreement.
Reviewing history with a specific counterparty. Search a counterparty's name to see every comment left across past negotiations with them, including any nonstandard terms you previously agreed to.
Confirming how an edge case was handled. Search a specific term (for example, "data residency" or "auto-renewal") to find how it was addressed in past matters, instead of asking a colleague or re-reviewing the original contract.
How to use this feature
Step 1: Just ask
Ask your LegalOn Assistant to search past comments, either by keyword or by describing what you're looking for. Narrow your results using the available filters: creator, counterparty, contract type, and period.
Alternatively, search past comments using Search > “Word comments.”
LegalOn searches and surfaces related comments across every contract stored in LegalOn, not just the one you're reviewing.
Step 2: Apply it to your current contract review
Using past comments as reference, ask the Assistant to draft a reply or new comment based on those results, then review and edit before posting.
