Learn how to connect Microsoft Teams with LegalOn.
Before you can manage matter communications in Teams, follow these steps to set up the connection.

Notes on connecting and disconnecting Teams
Connecting Teams
You need your Microsoft Entra Tenant ID to connect Teams with LegalOn. You can find this in the Microsoft Entra admin center. For instructions, see "How to find your Microsoft Entra tenant ID."
Only users with one of the following roles in the Microsoft Entra admin center can set up this connection:
Global Administrator
Privileged Role Administrator
If you connected Teams before May 28, 2026, you might need to grant additional permissions to reply to Teams messages from the matter details page.
Disconnecting Teams
To disconnect Teams, you must complete the steps in both LegalOn and the Microsoft Entra admin center.
We recommend consulting your IT department before completing the steps in "2. Disconnect in the Microsoft Entra admin center."
Only users with one of the following roles can disconnect the integration in the Microsoft Entra admin center:
Global Administrator
Cloud Application Administrator
Application Administrator
Once disconnected, you can no longer send messages between Teams and LegalOn. However, you can still view your past Teams threads and messages.
If you reconnect to the same Microsoft Entra tenant, you will regain access to your previous message history.Disconnecting from LegalOn is only the first step. You must also delete "LegalOn Matter Management - Graph API" in the Microsoft Entra admin center to fully disconnect Teams.
If you need to reconnect the same Microsoft Entra tenant, completely remove the old connection in the Microsoft Entra admin center first. Reconnecting without doing this may cause errors.If you connect a different Microsoft Entra tenant later, your previous message history will not carry over.
Install the LegalOn app in Teams
1. Select Apps on the left side of Teams, then search for LegalOn Matter Management.
2. Select LegalOn Matter Management, then click Add to download the app.
3. The app will download in Teams. Go to Apps > Manage your apps to confirm the LegalOn app is installed.
Connect Teams
Go to Admin settings > Microsoft Teams.
Enter your Microsoft Entra Tenant ID. You can find your Tenant ID in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
Turn on Enable Microsoft Teams integration.
Verify the Microsoft Teams environment, then click Accept.
When the connection is complete, you will see an "Integration successful" message.
Once connected, you can set up a matter intake form to submit requests and send messages directly from Teams. For details, see Create and publish matter intake forms and Submit a request or send a message from Microsoft Teams.
⚠️ Note:
If you need to reconnect an existing Microsoft Entra tenant, you must first completely remove the old connection in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
Reconnecting without doing this will cause an error.
Disconnect Teams
Step 1: Disconnect in LegalOn
1. Go to Admin settings > Microsoft Teams.
2. Turn off Enable Microsoft Teams integration.
3. Check the message, then click Disconnect.
Step 2: Disconnect in the Microsoft Entra admin center
Only users with the Microsoft Entra admin center permissions listed in the "Requirements" section can complete this step.
1. Go to the Microsoft Entra admin center.
2. Go to Microsoft Entra admin center > Enterprise applications.
3. Open All applications, then search for LegalOn.
4. Select LegalOn Matter Management - Graph API.
5. Click Properties.
6. Click Delete.
